The Power Of Visualization
For Weight Loss
You're about to learn about a secret mental technique used by some of the greatest bodybuilders and athletes in History - visualization.
Here's the results of an experiment that underlines how powerful this technique is:
An experiment was done with a group of basketball players. They were separated into 3 groups. The first group did not do any training whatsoever for the period of the experiment. The second group practiced their shooting during the experiment. And the third group were taken through mental rehearsals of them shooting the basketball, but they didn't physically do it. They just used their mind.
At the end of the period of the experiment, all three groups were given basketballs, and their shooting accuracy measured. The first group performed worst. The surprising results showed that there was no significant difference between the second and third groups. It was found out that practicing in your mind is just as effective as practicing in real life.
There have been numerous experiments since to prove that visualization is not some voodoo gimmick. It really works. You may have seen Olympic athletes practice in their mind exactly what they would do before they physically performed their sport. It is quite common for elite athletes to run their mind over their tasks before they have to perform so that they are at their peak.
So what is the point of visualization?
It is a powerful tool that keeps you focused, that keeps you on target and helps to reach your goals quicker.
The reason it works is because your brain does not know the difference between what's real and what's vividly imagined.
So what should you visualize?
It can be anything you see as representing the achievement of your goals. The key is seeing yourself already enjoying that lean body. Use as many of your senses as possible. Even though it is called visualization, it doesn't mean you should only see pictures. In fact, some people get more a sense or feeling, rather than seeing pictures. Do whatever works for you. Just see, smell, touch, hear and taste the achievement of your goals. The more of your senses you use, the more real the process becomes. Transport yourself like you're already there and really associate yourself to it. If you do this on a regular basis, you can literally get back to that association within seconds and be pumped about your new body and how its shaping up. Finding the motivation to lose weight will not be a problem.
If you spent 10 minutes every morning, and any other time of the day when you are free ( such as when you are in the shower, or brushing your teeth ) to visualize the achievement of your goals, it's just a question of time. There's no way you won't achieve it.
So make it fun, really feel as if you are there, and see yourself with that body, and soon you'll have it.
