Why You Should Avoid Fruit Juice
And Other Drinks When You Are Trying To Lose Weight
Drinking, even healthy juices and protein shakes is one of those things that can cause you to take in too many calories before you know it. Please be careful.
Drinks like fruit juice, coffee, regular soda and milk are very calorie dense. And the worse thing is that your body will not have to spend as much energy breaking it down in your body, so you won't even lose that many calories digesting it. Basically, having a couple of these type of drinks could easily overshoot your calorie intake by a few hundred calories very easily.
Water by far is the best drink that you can take in your body. To find out how much water you should have, read this article on "Amount Of Water You Need For Weight Loss". If you do need a flavoured drink to have throughout the day, try sticking to green tea or iced green tea - the kind that isn't loaded with sugar.
If you really are craving soda, drink it during a cheat meal, that you're going to have for that week. That way you get to have it, and it's not throwing you off your plan.
And that's the important thing. Have a structure of when and what you are eating. The more you plan out your meals in advance, the easier it will be on you to follow through with it, and so lose weight.
Remember, unless a protein shake or fruit juice after a workout is part of your eating plan and you have already taken this into account in your calorie intake, and then do your best to stick to water only. Water is highly recommended as it is the best kind of fluid to take in your body without a question.
